A meadow alive with color, encircled by bright pavilions fluttering pennons in the breeze. Noble lords and ladies gather to witness knights in shining armor clashing with sword and shield, while minstrels weave melodies of love and valor on lutes and harps. Beneath the royal canopy, a King and Queen consult with their elegantly dressed advisors.
A scene from a historical romance?
No, this is the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA).
Step back in time and experience the magic of history brought to life! Whether it’s feasting like royalty, joining thrilling tournaments, or learning time-honored skills such as cooking, metalworking, carpentry, or needlework, the SCA is your gateway to pre-17th century life.
Be part of an inclusive community that celebrates history through immersive activities, events, and friendships. The SCA offers enrichment, adventure, and a welcoming family for everyone. Come and make history with us!
Unlike a Renaissance Faire, the SCA is truly participatory—there are no mere spectators here! Every member contributes to the vibrant atmosphere by reenacting the aspects of medieval and Renaissance life that inspire them most.
Create your own persona, complete with historically inspired attire, and become part of the story. We ask that all participants make an effort to wear period costumes while attending our activities. To help with this, we offer loaner clothing if desired. While we encourage everyone to embrace period-appropriate attire, we’re here to assist you and your family in seamlessly immersing yourselves in this captivating world.
Whether you're drawn to crafting, combat, or the art of courtly life, the SCA welcomes you with open arms.
Our activities are open to everyone, offering something for participants of all ages and abilities. Whether you’re a seasoned enthusiast or just beginning your journey, you’ll find countless ways to explore and connect. Many members are happy to teach their skills and crafts, creating a welcoming environment for all.
